This week has been another whirlwind in this new life of ours.
Steve has been so busy its unbelievable.
Monday and Tuesday we had people come and do home surveys in order to give us quotes for moving our stuff again, well I could have told them that, it’ll be a 20ft container plus a van full, yep I was right. But what I don’t understand is why it costs the same if not more to ship by train across Australia than from the UK to Australia, this place is bonkers for the price of things?
Anyway, the lady on Monday was lovely and then the man yesterday was very competitive but after a few phone calls this morning, the lady with the more expensive quote got the job because they could pack it all up tomorrow, yes tomorrow, thats Thursday and load it on Friday, put it on the train pin Saturday and we would have it delivered the day after we land in our new house on the 7th August, perfect!
So today I’ve been printing, signing and scanning forms and tidying up, packing my bags again, throwing stuff out and trying to get my head around all the other jobs to do.
Unfortunately I’ve now been defeated and my foot is throbbing away so I’m sitting down having a cuppa after my Husbands strict instructions.
So this is the plan I think:
Thursday (tomorrow) men come and pack up our stuff
Friday men come and load our stuff.
Friday night we go with our suitcases to our little city apartment, with beds and a working kitchen etc for the week, comfy, better than camping in an empty house, the novelty wore off having done it already.
Saturday our shipment will be loaded onto the train to Brisbane.
Next week, i’ll have to clean the house, get the curtains dry cleaned, get Sammys to come and collect charity stuff.
Next Friday we got out in Perth for work leaving do.
Next Saturday we go and free George, hurrraayyyyyy! We’ll take him to the dog beach I expect but then he might have to stay at a posh house by the beach with some beagle fans that and Sunday night.
Monday George will get collected by Jet Pets, oh yes he sure is a Jet Pet. And we catch a plane too. We should arrive in Brisbane Monday sometime, Steve and I will get a hire car and drive to the house, George will have a full limo driven service and then we’ll be in our new home. that night we’ll camp kurt in sleeping bags and snuggle with our Beagle I expect.
Tuesday, our belongings will be delivered to the house.
The rest of the week we will have off, hurray!
Yep that sounds about it, what a great plan!
