So what do I have to say on my 200th post?

Well recently I have been posting about upholstery, decorating the house, walks with my George, screen printing, making jam and knitting and apart from making my first knitted collection and selling it very soon, what else do I have to say?

Well these are all little things, but there is a big adventure on the horizon which I will be embarking on soon and I don’t think I’ve blogged about it yet.

In the new year of 2012 my Husband Steve and I are moving to Perth, Australia, YES Australia as in hot and sunny and on the other side of the world. Steve was offered a job there doing the same as what he does now but on another project in a different location and well we did not say no to this opportunity.

We are going in January for a launch party, so this will be the first time we get to meet all Steve’s colleagues and see where the office is, check out Perth and the different areas to live and we will have an appointment with someone who is going to find us a house, very exciting!

It might be a bit like the Tv show ‘location location location’ or more like Relocation Phil down under !

So what will it be like in Perth?

Well I follow a blog called ‘a beach cottage’  the writer Sarah lives in Sydney and mostly talks about her beach cottage, but recently she went to Perth on her holiday. I like reading her postwell posts about her trip, looking at her lovely photos and imagining what it might be like.

I have been researching a little bit into what Perth has to offer and it seems it has it all. Nature reserves, the beach, a large river, the city, cafe & arts culture, tons of sport and great food.

One thing which sounds great is Perth Upmarket which is a group of designer makers who sell their goods in Perth town hall. The artists work looks fresh and interesting so I’m looking forward to going along and hopefully selling some of my products there too. And there is an Australian version of Etsy except its sold in Australia only, so probably a bit more like Folksy, they’re called Madeit so I can sell here too.

What I am looking forward to most is not having any particular expectation, going with an open mind and having a big adventure with my best friend, Steve my husband.

It’s funny how life goes, when I was a teenager I used to dream, quite a lot I think now. I used to dream of being a fashion designer – tick, of getting married to a hunky dude of a man – tick, of living in a pretty cottage by a beach in Pembrokeshire – tick, all of these things I somehow have managed to have done or have.

There are a couple of other things though, live somewhere hot and be a surfer which will soon have some big ticks next to them too, I am sooooooo lucky!

So in January I will post about our trip, and then on how I get us all packed up and ready to go.

I’m Looking forward to sharing the journey and yes if anyone wants to come and stay with us in Perth, of course you can, I have spare rooms on my list of house requirements :-)
