When I was at Annie Washbrooks (the local fabric shop) a few weeks ago looking for upholstery fabric, I spotted a dress fabric which I went “ohhhhh” at, which was very unusual for me, I find it quite rare to find nice dress fabric.
I have been looking for a lovely fabric for ages, so when I saw this I bought it straight away, I know exactly what I’m going to make with it.
I’ve wanted to make a tea dresses like the one I wore to my wedding party but shorter and in cotton not silk so it’s easier to wear everyday, basically like old 1940′s style dresses, as shown in the film “The edge of love”.
I think the style of the girls in the film “The edge of love” is great, its easy to wear, feminine and practical for walking the dog (in most weather conditions) and living in the country. This is the dress I wore at my wedding party, not so practical for every day, far too nice.
So anyway, I think this fabric will be perfect, I will need to make the pattern, but I think I’ll be able to do it.
I can’t wait to get on with it, I hope it will be nice as I hope imagine it.
